Nanny troubles When even the best plans go out the window

My sister hired a nanny last year and it didn’t turn out to be all it was cracked up to be. After a year of no cooking, texting and wine drinking she was let go.

The next time you are frustrated or feel like giving up when faced with an angry, belligerent, lazy manipulating or out of control teen ( common we all have felt like that at some point) just think about why you are parenting them, what the lesson is here and how you can teach them this lesson with dignity. Besides you don´t have the option of giving up.

Putting your kids to bed without a fight.

This little sweetheart said that yes she was going strait to bed. One more kiss and it was off to lala land. Ok I said and called my friend for the final goodnight. The next thing I knew lights out was a thing of the past, a computer game was provides so she wouldnt get bored while falling asleep, and multiple tears had spilled all within a few minutes.

Creating independent kids

I loose my temper, have been known to yell, make bad decisions and make mistakes frequently. I do however back up and apologize if I have gone to far, behaved unfairly or been unreasonable. I will willingly admit to being wrong. I don´t pretend to be a martyr. I don´t act as if I have everything under control at all times and I make sure my kids know that in order for our family unit to run smoothly they need to participate, period. They understand that life is about making mistakes, asking for help when you need it and taking responsibility for who you are.
